This research was conducted at SD Negeri 2 Pliken with the aim of knowing the
role and strategies of the teacher in learning the art of music at SD Negeri 2 Pliken.
Based on the observations of researchers at SD Negeri 2 Pliken, learning the art of
music at SD is a new learning, because it uses a new curriculum and is an optional
learning chosen by the teacher. This research uses descriptive research. Data
collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The
results of this study indicate that teachers of SD Negeri 2 Pliken in learning the art
of music in class act as administrators, supervisors, motivators, and evaluators.
This can be seen from the students who show their respective characters in class,
such as being able to work together with their classmates, and helping friends who
experience difficulties when practicing music learning. The difficulties experienced
by teachers are incomplete learning resources. In this study, it was found that there
were inhibiting factors in the form of 24 students in class IV, there were some
students who did not like learning the art of music so that the class was less
conducive. Students do not like the art of music because learning is complicated
and boring according to them. While the supporting factors in this study are the
infrastructure at Pliken 2 Public Elementary School that supports and the
community environment which in fact is still an artist's environment making
learning music more interesting. That is one of the supporting factors for learning
music at SD Negeri 2 Pliken.
