The background of this research highlights the urgent need to cultivate noble
character (akhlakul karimah) among students in the era of rapid globalization and
technological advancement. Educational institutions play a crucial role in shaping
good character through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and the habituation of
religious activities. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic
Religious Education and the habituation of religious activities in shaping the
noble character of students at SMP Negeri 3 Nusawungu, Cilacap Regency.
The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects
include the Principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, the process standard
coordinator, and the assessment standard coordinator. Data collection is carried
out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data is then reduced,
displayed, and conclusions are drawn.
The results of the research show that the implementation of Islamic
Religious Education at SMP Negeri 3 Nusawungu includes: 1. Planning, with the
creation of lesson planning documents by PAI teachers; 2. Implementation,
utilizing differentiated learning strategies through an interactive approach, using
lecture methods, discussions, and worship practices. The habituation of religious
activities includes collective prayer, memorization of the 30th juz of the Quran,
memorization of Asmaul Husna, congregational Dhuhr prayer, Friday infaq
movements, Ramadhan pesantren, the 5S movement, and environmental
cleanliness. The formation of noble character is achieved through the
implementation of PAI, habituation, and the role model provided by teachers. This
research concludes that a combination of PAI learning, consistent habituation, and
exemplary behavior from teachers is effective in shaping noble character among
students.
