This study aims to: 1) analyze the use of looseparts learning media in
developing the ability to count and use the concept of numbers in Pre-Elementary
school children, and 2) analyze how much influence the looseparts learning media
has on the ability to count and use the concept of numbers in Pre-Elementary school
students.
This study uses a quantitative research method and is a type of quasiexperimental
research with a control or comparison group. Data analysis used the
Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, the Lavene homogeneity test, and the Mann-
Whitney hypothesis test. The research was carried out in Group B (age 5-6 years)
on 26 children at Kindergarten Muslimat NU Diponegoro 63 Rancamaya as the
control group and 20 children at Kindergarten Muslimat NU Diponegoro 147
Panembangan as an experimental group. Data collection uses observation,
interviews and documentation.
The results of the study show that: 1) the achievement of the ability to use
numbers that are in accordance with expectations in the control class is 65% and in
the experimental class is 95%, 2) the achievement of the ability to use numbers in
accordance with expectations in the control class is 43% and in the experimental
class is 85%, 3) looseparts learning media greatly affect the ability to calculate and
use the concept of numbers because the variety of tools/materials provided is varied,
It is easy to get in the surrounding environment and children get the freedom to
choose the tools/media used according to their interests so that learning is more
interesting and fun.
