This research aims to describe the classification of emotions found in the novel
"Gendut? Siapa Takut!" by Alnira. The method used in this research is qualitative
descriptive with a literary psychology approach. The data collection technique
employed in this study is observation using reading and note-taking techniques. The
data analysis technique involves data classification and categorization, which are
then analyzed to draw conclusions. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that the
novel "Gendut? Siapa Takut!" by Alnira is represented through various emotions. The
results of the analysis show that (1) there are nine classifications of emotions in the
novel; (2) the emotional classifications are depicted through the main character,
Moza, who lacks self-confidence, but this doesn't rule out the possibility of her finding
a partner who meets her criteria of being handsome, authoritative, and, most
importantly, not fond of taking selfies; (3) the classifications present in the novel are
fear, joy, jealousy, anger, sadness, hatred, guilt, shame, and love. This research is
expected to contribute to further research and development of the theory of emotional
classification in scholarly works.
