The low learning motivation of the students served as the background for this study. One of the teachers' methods of dealing with the problem was to encourage them, which was done frequently, and the researcher was interested in learning more about the students' reactions to the encouragement. This qualitative research aimed to find out the correlation and the effects of students' responses and learning motivation. The populations included 18 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Pekalongan.The variables in this research were students' responses and learning motivation. The data were collected using questionnaire and the hypothesis was tested using correlation, regression, and determination analysis techniques. The results demonstrated a correlation and influence between students' responses to their teachers' encouragement and their learning motivation at a significance level of 5%. The correlation test resulted in a pearson correlation coefficient of 0.613 and a simple regression test result of 9.896 + 0.911X, proving it. Furthermore, the regression significance test using the t test revealed that tcount = 3.104 and ttable= 2.131, indicating that there was a significant relationship between students' responses and their motivation to learn. Furthermore, the determination test revealed that R square was 37.6%, implying that 37.6% of students' learning motivation was influenced by their responses to teachers' encouragement. It is suggested that the teacher should continue to provide positive encouragement to students in order to receive favorable answers, which will have a positive impact on their learning motivation.
