This study aims to describe the students' divergent thinking skills of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto viewed from gender. This study uses qualitative research method using Miles and Huberman model which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Sources of data in this study were students of class VIII A. The research subjects were obtained using purposive sampling; students were grouped into two groups. Each group was chosen by three male students and three female students for research purposes. The method of data collection in this study used tests, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study it can be said that male students master the ability to provide more than one alternative solution; female students have not mastered the ability to give more than one solution; male students have not mastered the ability to give answers or construct unique ideas; female students have not mastered the ability to give unique answers or ideas; male students master the ability to give answers in detail; female students master the ability to give answers in detail.
