Abstract
The aim of this research is to enhance children's speaking ability through the use of puppet character media in Class A (first year students) of TK (Kindergarten) Aisyiyah, Tanjungsari Village. The research methodology employed is classroom action research following the Kemmis and Taggart model, conducted over two cycles. The research subjects consist of 25 children, while the object of the study is speaking skills through puppet character media. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation, with data analysis conducted descriptively and qualitatively. Success criteria in this study are defined as achieving approximately 75% of students reaching the minimum criteria of "good" speaking ability. The research findings indicate an improvement in speaking ability through puppet character media among TK Aisyiyah, Tanjungsari Village children. Observations conducted in the initial cycle showed that 3 students, or 12%, met the criteria, which increased to 15 students, or 60%, in the first cycle. Among them, 2 students, or 8%, fell into the "moderate" category, and 13 students, or 52%, met the "good" criteria. In the second cycle, the number increased to 22 students, or 88%, with 9 students, or 36%, categorized as "moderate," and 13 students, or 52%, categorized as "good." Additionally, 3 students, or 12%, did not meet the minimum criteria. From the aforementioned explanation, it can be concluded that in the implementation of the second cycle, the success indicator of approximately 75% improvement in speaking ability has been achieved.
