Batik Mangrove is a type of batik that has developed in Kutawaru Village,
Central Cilacap District. Leksana Batik Jaya, as the pioneer of batik in Kutawaru,
has been instrumental in developing Mangrove Batik, a distinctive type of batik
that represents Cilacap, from 2013 to the present day.
This research aims to describe Leksana Batik Jaya's role in the development
of Mangrove Batik in Kutawaru. This research employed a historical research
method consisting of four stages: heuristic (collecting data from various sources
such as books like Agustin's "Sejarah Batik dan Motif Batik di Indonesia," the
repository of Universitas Negeri Surakarta, observation, and interviews),
verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this research
indicate that Kutawaru Batik is a distinctive type of batik that represents Cilacap
and has the potential to become a tourist attraction in Kutawaru. This batik has
continued to innovate throughout its development, particularly its motifs. Its
unique characteristics make it essential to preserve as a cultural heritage.
Hopefully, this research can serve as a reference for future researchers,
contributing to expanding knowledge in this field.
