Abstract

The Sunan Ampel road section is an inter-city road located at km 0 + 000 to 2 +
200 km with a road length of 2.2 km and a road width of 5.5 m. The road damage
caused losses to road users, starting from the aspects of comfort and safety, for
this reason, the Sunan Ampel road section needs to be monitored by the pavement
conditions to the extent of the damage that has occurred on these roads. Two
methods were used to determine road conditions, namely the PCI method and the
Bina Marga method. This study aims to determine the value of the Sunan Ampel
road section based on the PCI (Pavement Conditional Index) method and the Bina
Marga method and to determine the type of road condition handling from the two
methods.
The method used is field research with primary data in the form of survey results
on the area of road damage and secondary data from related agencies in the form
of road characteristics, LHR data and a stripmap of road conditions. The priority
order of road handling using the Bina Marga method is based on a range of
numbers from 0 to 10, while PCI ranks pavement conditions from a value of 0 to
100.
From the results of the research, the condition of the Sunan Ampel road section
using the PCI method resulted in a value of 72, and Bina Marga produced a
priority order value of 75, and for the type of damage, namely Crocodile Skin
Cracked which reached a total damage of 48.5% of the total area of damage.
Meanwhile, the type of damage with the smallest area was a hole which achieved
a total damage of 0.4% of the total area of damage. Both methods get the same
type of maintenance, namely routine maintenance.
