Abstract
This study is aimed at improving students’ speaking competence through guided conversation video. The subjects of this study were 28 students of the first grade of SMP Negeri 3 Kalibagor in academic year 2017/2018. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology. The data were collected through test, observation, questionnaire, and interview guide. The results of test showed that the students’ average score improve from 48 in test I to 76 in test III. The results of observation showed improvement of students’ activeness and teacher’s behavior in class. The results of questionnaire indicating good perception from the students toward the implementation of guided conversation video. Also, the results of interview guide indicating good perception from the teacher toward the implementation of guided conversation video
