Abstract

Development of the ability to write narrative elementary students couldn’t be
done optimally. Therefore, it is necessary to realize the development process of
this narrative writing skills better. Such efforts can be done by the use of
educational products such as teaching materials that can support learning. The
scientific approach is an approach whose characteristics meet student learning
objectives. With six components in the scientific approach it will produce teaching
materials written narrative quality because it can motivate students to be more
active in learning. Formulation of the problem in this study, namely the teaching
materials such as whether to develop the ability to write narrative for fifth grade
elementary school students? Two of whether oriented teaching materials scientific
approaches are effective in learning to write the narrative for elementary school
fifth grade students? The purpose of this research, namely: 1. describe the
feasibility and effectiveness of teaching materials oriented scientific approach in
teaching narrative writing for elementary school fifth grade students. This study
uses research and development (R & D) carried out in six stages of research,
namely the preliminary surveys, product design, product validation, revision of
design, test effectiveness, and a description of the results of research.
Based on the results of questionnaire analysis needs of teachers, validation
experts, and teacher assessment narrative writing teaching materials with
scientific approach, that is equal to 3.16 are included in both categories.
Teaching material contains six sections. Part of the watch contains examples of
stories and reading questions. The second part contains examples of stories and
make reading questions. The third section identifies with giving the title story.
Make sense to include them in the fourth part of the story, and part of the fifth try,
with accomplishing the story, as well as producing the sixth section by writing a
story. Besides decent after experimental test result is the product of students has
increased as evidenced by the average of the initial value 66.38, becomes 87.13.
