Abstract

This research was aimed at knowing the students‟ perception on the
teacher‟s corrective feedback in their writing at SMAN Jatilawang in Academic
year 2015/2016. It used descriptive survey research. The population was 170
eleventh grade students of SMAN Jatilawang. The samples of the research were
51 students. The technique of data collection used questionnaire and interview.
The results showed that: 1) in the type of written corrective feedback, almost 96%
of the students had positive perception in direct written corrective feedback,
because the students only rewrote the correct answer which was given by the
teacher. 2) in variety of forms in giving direct written corrective feedback, nearly
98% of students had positive perception when teacher ommitted, rewrote, and
added some missing words on their mistakes because it gave benefit for them to
write better. 3) in giving corrective feedback on writing aspect, almost 98% of
students had positive perception that the teacher gave feedback on content,
organization, vocabulary, grammar and mechanic in their mistakes because it was
helpful for developing their accuracy in their writing. 4) in the benefit of written
corrective feedback, around 96% of students had positive perception because they
could produce better writing after teacher gave written corrective feedback in their
mistakes.
