This research was carried out bearing in mind that there is a decrease in student
discipline behavior which has now become a phenomenon that often occurs,
especially in the world of education. One way that can be done to prevent this is by
scouting extracurricular activities because this activity is considered quite fun with
various activities in it that can improve the discipline character of students. The role
of the scout coach is also something that cannot be separated from the scout
extracurricular activities. Apart from being a coach, it is also a program organizer.
This study aims to describe the process of improving the disciplinary character of
students in terms of citizenship education through scout extracurriculars at SD
Negeri Kroya 04 Cilacap in terms of program planning, program implementation
and evaluation of activities that have been carried out. The method used is
descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Informants in this study were
teachers/scout coaches and students. Data collection techniques were carried out
through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data analysis
technique used is the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction,
data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study concluded that
improving the disciplinary character of students through scout extracurriculars can
improve the disciplinary character of students and this disciplinary character
improvement is achieved with quality, maximum and effective results
