Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of image-based media multiple
intelligences and to determine the increase in student learning outcomes between
conventional methods and the use of image-based media multiple intelligences in
social studies learning on import-export material and the role of technology in
the economy. Improving student learning achievement in the learning process at
school does not only use conventional methods, but can be helped by using
appropriate learning media. This is done so that the material being taught can be
easily accepted by students. One of the learning media that can be used is imagebased
media multiple intelligences. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri
7 Purwokerto with a sample of class VIII students consisting of 2 classes divided
into a control class and an experimental class. The method used in this research
is method Almost experiment with non-equivalent control group design which
aims to determine the influence of the image media used. The research results
show that the use of image media in import-export material and the role of
technology in the economy can improve the learning achievement of class VIII
students. This can be seen from the results pretest and posttest. From the results
pretest the control class obtained 71.72, and the average value posttest control
class 71.94, while the results pretest the experimental class obtained 75.67, and
the average value posttest experimental class 81.39. Based on table Independent
Sample T-test above the sig value (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, because the sig value
(2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, therefore in the Hₐ acceptance area, Hₒ is rejected and
Hₐ is accepted. Because Hₐ is accepted, there is a significant difference between
the social studies learning outcomes of experimental class students who use
image-based media multiple intelligences with the results of control class social
studies learning that uses conventional learning.
