Abstract
The lack of effective learning media in elementary schools has led to a decline in students' motivation and understanding of the subject matter, hindering their critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop a web-based science and social studies (IPAS) learning media using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students, specifically in the science subject of electric current. The ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) was used as a framework to guide the development process. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Wangon Banyumas involving 18 students in each of the VA and VB classes. Validation was carried out to ensure the quality and relevance of the learning media by informatics experts who assessed the technical aspects, media experts who evaluated the design and effectiveness of the media, and subject matter experts who ensured the accuracy of the content. Based on the validation results, the learning media was deemed highly valid based on the assessment of informatics and media experts. Meanwhile, from the perspective of subject matter experts, the learning media was considered to have met the established standards, being deemed valid. The effectiveness of the media was validated through pre-test and post-test results. Data analysis showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, indicating a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills. This proves that the developed AI-based IPAS learning media is effective in enhancing the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Wangon Banyumas. Thus, this innovative learning media can be an effective solution to meet the need for engaging and interactive learning media at the elementary level.
