Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in Indonesia's
economy, creating jobs and driving economic growth. These enterprises, often resistant
to economic shocks and crises, operate on a small scale, typically run by individuals
or small groups with limited assets and annual revenues. The rapid development of
technology can significantly aid MSMEs, providing tools to enhance their operations.
Sweets Wig, a wig-making MSME in Purbalingga, seeks to leverage technology to
improve its payroll system. Currently, the payroll process is manual, using calculators
and physical records to calculate and document employee wages based on workdays.
This method is prone to human error and time-consuming, often resulting in
inaccuracies and difficulties in data recapitalization. To address these issues, the
development of an Android-based employee payroll application using React Native
was undertaken. The application, developed using the waterfall methodology, aims to
automate payroll calculations and provide accessible records of employee wages. The
project successfully produced an Android application, and its functionality was
validated through Black Box Testing, ensuring the application's reliability and
accuracy in payroll management.
