Abstract
Background: Patients who give birth by caesarean section are at risk of bleeding and will receive antihemorrhagic therapy. Postpartum hemorrhage causes 30.3% of maternal deaths in Indonesia. The use of antihemorrhagics in caesarean section patients requires DRPs analysis because it is not only related to the mother's condition, but also to the condition of the baby. This study aims to determine the prevalence of Drug Related Problems (DRPs) in the use of antihemorrhagic drugs in caesarean section patients at Cilacap Regional Hospital. Method: Data was taken prospectively from the Inpatient Installation and Medical Records Installation of Cilacap Regional Hospital for the period February – March 2024. This type of non-experimental research with the sampling method used was purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria, namely patients who underwent caesarean section, patients who received antihemorrhagic therapy, patients with or without comorbidities, and exclusion criteria, namely patients who were not willing to be respondents and incomplete medical record data. Results analysis was carried out descriptively with univariate data analysis in the form of percentages. Results: From 35 patients, it was found that the pattern of antihemorrhagic use applied at Cilacap Regional Hospital was oxytocin 10 IU and 20 IU every 8 hours IM (66.0%), tranexamic acid 500 mg every 8 hours IV (32.0%), and misoprostol 200 mcg x 3 tab per rectal (2.0%). Patients experienced DRPs (Drug Related Problems) in the form of ESO (8.6%), where 2 patients (5.6%) experienced the side effect of shortness of breath and 1 patient (3.0%) experienced the side effect of dizziness after using oxytocin for 24 hours. Conclusion: there was an incidence of DRPs in the form of ESO, namely 3 patients (8.6%) experienced drug side effects after using oxytocin.
