Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that requires special treatment so as not to
cause new problems for sufferers. The provision of appropriate therapy given to
DM patients aims to prevent the potential for prolonged complications. This study
aims to see the rationality and Drug Related Problem (DRP) of combined treatment
in DM patients as general hospital Cilacap.
The type research is an observational descriptive type of research. Data
collection was carried out prospectively in March-May 2024. The sampling
technique used accidental sampling method and the sample taken was 100 patients
who met the inclusion criteria.
The results showed that the rationality of drug use included correct medicine
98%, correct patient 98%, correct indication 98%, correct dose 99%, and correct
time interval 100% and the prevalence of DRP events in the form of overdose 1
case, drug interactions 112 cases, indications without drugs 2 cases, and patient
non-compliance in treatment 10 cases.
