Abstract

21st century skills include more than just technological literacy; they also include
critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal interaction
abilities. In the world of 21st century education, teachers need to involve
technology in learning is very important. Waste is still a problem in Indonesia.
WHO sets the limit of waste as disliked and unused material that comes from human
activities. Teachers still use printed teaching materials and have not used electronic
teaching materials, especially electronic modules. In addition, there has never been
a self-developed sustainable lifestyle module, and there has never been an e-module
to improve critical thinking skills. This is due to the lack of facilities and
infrastructure as well as the ability of teachers to create electronic teaching
materials, so that students are less interested in lessons and produce low levels of
critical thinking. Students need e-modules that present a real picture and are
interactive so as to improve critical thinking skills. This research aims to produce
e-modules on the theme of sustainable lifestyles, determine the feasibility and
effectiveness of e-modules. This teaching material is made in the form of modules
and developed to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students
on the theme of sustainable lifestyles. This research and development in education
uses the ADDIE method. Data analysis techniques were carried out quantitatively
and qualitatively. Data collection instruments were in the form of tests and nontests.
The assessment of e-modules on the theme of sustainable lifestyles according
to the assessment of material and media experts is feasible to use. The use of emodules
on the theme of sustainable lifestyles is effective for improving critical
thinking skills on the theme of sustainable lifestyles. e-Modules on the theme of
sustainable lifestyles can not only be used in research subjects, but can be used as
a learning resource and reference for other educational units. Teachers can utilize
mobile phones in learning through the use of Canva. The use of sustainable lifestyle
e-modules encourages teachers to utilize technology to improve students' critical
thinking skills.
