Abstract
Good school principal managerial competence will be able to improve teacher
performance. This research aims to: 1) find out the process of managerial application
by principals in improving the performance of teachers in elementary schools in
Wanadadi District, Banjarnegara Regency, 2) To find out the supporting and
inhibiting factors in the process of implementing managerial principals in improving
teacher performance in elementary schools in Wanadadi District Banjarnegara
Regency, 3) to find out the results of the managerial implementation process of the
Principal in improving teacher performance in elementary schools in Wanadadi
District, Banjarnegara Regency. The research method used in this research is
descriptive qualitative. The data collection process uses questionnaires, interviews
and documentation. The informants used as data sources were the principal and class
teachers. The results obtained in this research are that the managerial competence of
the Principal has not yet optimally implemented the school program, as required by
Minister of National Education Regulation No. 13 of 2007 as well as an indicator of
the managerial competence of school principals, the low managerial competence of
school principals has an impact on teacher performance in carrying out learning
activities. The implications of this research are expected to be: 1) the managerial
application of school principals has a great influence on improving teacher
performance, so better management needs to be developed. 2) so that subordinates
can act creatively and school principals are not too preoccupied with technical
matters, it is necessary to provide special direction and training for teachers who still
have low performance. 3) in an effort to improve teacher performance, school
principals cannot stand alone without help and cooperation from existing resources.
