Language is a means of communication and interaction used by humans through
speech, writing, and gestures. Language ability in early childhood is crucial as it is
one of the key aspects determining a child's future success. This research aims to
investigate the improvement of language ability in 5-6-year-old children through
chain message games in group B1 at Aisyiyah Kasegeran Kindergarten academic
year 2023/2024. This study employed a qualitative method of Classroom Action
Research (CAR) conducted with 16 children, comprising 7 boys and 9 girls in group
B1 (second year students) at TK (Kindergarten) Aisyiyah Kasegeran. Data
collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results
indicate an improvement in language ability in 5-6 year-old children throughout the
research. This improvement is evident in each cycle. In the initial study, out of 16
children observed in group B1, 12 children (75%) were categorized as starting to
develop, and 4 children (25%) were categorized as developing as expected. In Cycle
I, there was an increase in language ability with 10 children (63%) categorized as
starting to develop, 4 children (25%) categorized as Developing as expected, and 2
children (12%) categorized as developing very well. Furthermore, in Cycle II, there
was a significant improvement with 3 children (19%) categorized as starting to
develop, 9 children (56%) categorized as developing as expected, and 4
children(25%) categorized as developing very well.
