Abstract

One effective method for enhancing fine motor skills in early childhood, particularly within
playgroup settings, involves engaging children in finger painting activities. This study seeks to
improve the fine motor skills of children attending KBIT (INTEGRATED ISLAMIC PLAY GROUP)
Al Fathonah Gombong, utilizing Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology. The research
was conducted across three sessions, involving 15 students from KBIT Al Fathonah, comprising
seven male and eight female students, with qualitative methods employed to obtain research
outcomes. Findings revealed that among the 15 children, seven (47%) were classified as starting
to devolop (MB), five (33%) demonstrated expected development (BSH), and three (20%) exhibited
very good development (BSB). Following participation in finger painting activities during Cycle
I, there was observed improvement in fine motor skill development, with five children (33%)
demonstrating initial development (MB), seven (47%) showing expected development (BSH), and
three (20%) displaying very good development (BSB). Subsequently, in Cycle II, data analysis
indicated that out of the 15 children, two (13%) demonstrated initial development (MB), seven
(47%) exhibited expected development (BSH), and six (40%) showed very good development
(BSB).
