Children aged 4-5 years typically exhibit excellent language development,
with a broad vocabulary and the ability to construct simple sentences. However,
this development may be hindered by gadget usage. Parents often provide gadgets
to children to divert their attention and avoid disruptions during parental activities.
This research aims to understand the impact of gadget usage on children's language
development. The research methodology is a case study conducted in Dusun 5,
Gumiwang Village, Purwanegara District, Banjarnegara Regency. Data collection
techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research
findings indicate that gadget usage negatively impacts children's language
development. Both children involved in the study did not increase their vocabulary;
instead, one child experienced a decreased vocabulary. Furthermore, both subjects
became more reserved and difficult to communicate with.
