Abstract
This research was conducted considering the importance of building students'
religious character by implementing a cultural program of reading the Qur'an
because the Qur'an is a holy book that is used as a guide to the life of Muslims
worldwide. Religion as a foundation that greatly affects the moral strength of
children as a provision for life according to the teachings listed in religious values
that are important to shape the character of children, so that every action children
take in their lives reflects good behaviors.
This study aims to determine the implementation of the Qur'an reading culture
program for students at SD Negeri Kroya 04 and also find out the supporting and
inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Qur'an reading culture program.
This research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method at SD Negeri
Kroya 04. Data obtained in this study through observation, interviews, and
documentation. With informants, some of them are school principals, Islamic
religious education teachers and grade IV to VI teachers of SD Negeri Kroya 04.
The results of research on the Qur'an reading culture program at SD Negeri Kroya
04 can be seen in its implementation can be said to be an excellent program.
Supporting factors in this Qur'an reading culture program include adequate
activity facilities, teacher motivation and attention, and students' ability to read the
Qur'an. This program has been implemented since 2022 and is still being
implemented today. With this kind of habituation, the atmosphere in the school
creates a religious nuance, more disciplined, after reading the Qur'an the heart
becomes calm, easy to memorize and chant verses of the Qur'an, the ability to
read the Qur'an and worship slowly increases and students are also enthusiastic in
this Qur'an reading culture program. The inhibiting factors include students not
mastering how to read the Qur'an correctly and lack of supervision of teachers.
