Abstract
At this time, there is a phenomenon of lack of students' creative thinking skills
and student motivation in learning. Students' creative thinking skills and student
motivation in learning can be improved through learning with the Contextual
Teaching and Learning (CTL) method with ethnoscience content. This study aims to
analyze the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning with ethnoscience content
on creative thinking skills and motivation in learning science in fifth grade students
of public elementary schools in the Diponegoro Cluster, Banyumas sub-district. This
research is a quantitative study with an experimental research design using 2
groups, namely 1 experimental group and 1 control group. Group 1 and group 2
consisted of 27 students. The research data were analyzed using Mann Whitney
test.The results of the study provide the following conclusions: 1) The Contextual
Teaching and Learning model with ethnoscience content has an effect on the critial
thinking ability of fifth grade elementary school students in the Diponegoro Gugus
area of Banyumas District, and 2) The Contextual Teaching and Learning model
with ethnoscience content has an effect on the learning motivation of fifth grade
students of SDN in the Diponegoro Cluster area of Banyumas Subdistrict.
