The reseach, entitied “Types of Directive Politeness in Indonesian Language Teachers’ Utterances during the Odd Semester of the Academic Year 2023-2024 at SMA Negeri 2 Cilacap”, aims to describe the types of directive politeness in Indonesianlanguage teachers’ utterances during the teaching and learning process in the forst semester of the academic year 2023-2024 at SMA Negeri 2 Cilacap. Data for this study were collected from Indonesia language teachers’ speech at SMA Negeri 2 Cilacap during teaching and learning activities in class X. The research was conducted in three stages: (1) data collectionusing the observation method with the Observation Non-Participatory Method (SBLC) technique, recording technique, and note-taking technique, (2) data analysis using the comparative and distributional method, and (3) presentation of the results of informal data analysis. The findings of the research include: (1) directive politeness of requests in the form of requesting 13 data , pleading 1 data, prsying 3 data, and inviting 5 data. (2) directive politeness of questions in the form of asking, totaling 27 data. (3) directive politeness of commands in the form of commanding 9 data, directing 6 data, and instructing 4 data. (4) directive politeness of prohibitions in the form of restricting, with 6 data. (5) directive politeness of permission in the form of agreeing 5 data and allowing 3 data. (6) directive politeness of advice in the form of advising 1 data, warning 2 data, and suggesting 1 data.
