Abstract
Abstract. Education is one of the efforts to shape one's values and character. Seeing
the current phenomenon, there are many cases of intolerance in this country,
especially in the world of education. At the elementary school level, moral
degradation begins, and the attitude of respect and appreciation begins to fade.
Through a study of understanding the philosophical meaning of Javanese doilanan
songs to manifest the character of tolerance among elementary school students. The
purpose of this study is to describe the philosophical meaning of dolanan songs to
form the character of tolerance in elementary school students, in learning Javanese
local content through critical analysis of the philosophical meaning of dolanan
songs Cublak Cublak Suweng and Sluku-Sluku Bathok. Qualitative research
methods using a hermeneutic approach, understanding or interpretation. Based on
the research results, it can be concluded that through observation and interview
techniques, data were obtained to increase understanding of the meaning of dolanan
songs to increase changes in the form of student tolerance behavior. The level of
understanding of the meaning of philosophy and the character of toleration in
children is included in the high category, having a toleran attitude, so that the results
of the average analysis of the three elementary schools reach 85%. Analysis of the
philosophical meaning of a dolanan song is able to realize the growth of awareness
and a high value of tolerance personally both to God the creator, to teachers,
parents, fellow human beings and society. The research subjects were elementary
school students in the General Sudirman Cluster, Kroya District, Cilacap Regency.
The implications for the philosophical meaning and the value of tolerance in the
teaching of Javanese dolanan songs are as an indicator of the character of education.
From a scientific point of view, it is in the form of a running process and the
balanced implementation of the teaching of Javanese dolanan songs as a form of
teaching local content in the form of dolanan songs based on local wisdom which
are in accordance with the curriculum guidelines.
