Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms and factors causing the emergence of internal conflict experienced by the main character in a novel written by Sherlyta entitled 'Aldara.' This study was conducted using a psychological approach. The object of this research was the main character's internal conflict in the 'Aldara' novel. The data used in this research consisted of texts containing internal conflict sourced from Sherlyta's work. Data collection in this research was done using reading and noting techniques. Data analysis was carried out through data preparation and organization, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the study results, there were seven forms of internal conflict experienced by the main character in the 'Aldara' novel, namely depression, anxiety, fear, guilt, anger, hesitation, and heartache. The causes of inner conflict consisted of two factors, internal and external.
