Abstract
This research aims to analyze the leadership model of school principals
that is effective in improving teacher performance at SMK Muhammadiyah
Adiwerna Tegal. Teacher performance is an important factor in achieving quality
education goals. The school principal has a crucial role in motivating and
guiding teachers to achieve their best performance.
The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study
approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with school principals,
teachers and educational staff, as well as observations in the school environment.
Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques to identify the
leadership model applied by school principals in improving teacher performance.
The results of the research show that the principal at SMK
Muhammadiyah Adiwerna Tegal applies several leadership models that are
effective in improving teacher performance. These models include:
Islamic Leadership: The principal in carrying out his duties as a leader is always
based on Allah's commands in the Qur'an and hadith from the
Prophet.Transformational Leadership: The principal has the ability to inspire and
motivate teachers with a clear vision of the school's future. They also support
innovation and teacher professional development.Collaborative Leadership: The
principal is active in building teamwork among teachers and school staff. They
encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences between teachers to improve the
quality of teaching.Empowering Leadership: Principals empower teachers by
giving them greater responsibility in decision making regarding learning and
school managementAchievement-Oriented Leadership: The principal measures
teacher performance regularly and provides constructive feedback to help
teachers improve the quality of their teaching.
By implementing these various leadership models, the principal at SMK
Muhammadiyah Adiwerna Tegal succeeded in improving teacher performance
and creating a school environment that is conducive to learning. The results of
this research can be a reference for other school principals and related parties in
efforts to improve teacher performance in other schools.
