Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis (TB), a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is an airborne infectious disease. Treatment carried out to cure the disease can be done appropriately and in accordance with the guidelines of the national guidelines for the treatment of tuberculosis. This study aims to determine the use of anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATD) in tuberculosis patients in the Outpatient Department of RSUD Brebes by referring to the 2016 Tuberculosis Control Guidelines. Methods: This research method was conducted cross sectional from medical record data of all ages at RSUD Brebes. Furthermore, the use of anti-tuberculosis drugs was evaluated in tuberculosis patients in the outpatient department of RSUD Brebes. The number of samples used was 44 patients. Results: The length of treatment carried out by patients in accordance with treatment standards was 33 patients (75%) and 11 patients (25.00%) who were not in accordance. The type of OAT used by 44 patients (100%) received FDC type ATD treatment. The suitability of ATD dosage is category I as many as 17 patients (38.64%), and category II as many as 27 patients (61.36%). The suitability of the ATD combination for category I meets 100% and category II meets 100%. The results of treatment in patients were 33 patients (75%) were declared cured and 11 patients (25%) dropped out. Conclusion: The use of anti-tuberculosis drugs (ATD) has been in accordance with the 2016 Tuberculosis Control Guidelines.
