Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the readiness of schools, parents, and students on
the implementation of e-learning at SD UMP. E-learning is a way of teaching in
the modem era by utilizing computer technology as a medium of interaction that
can be done anytime and anywhere. E-learning readiness is the mental or physical
readiness of an organization for an e-learning experience or action. There are
many factors related to e-learning readiness, researchers are interested in
combining the opinions of three experts, Chapnick (2000), Aydin and Tasci
(2005), and Cecilia (2008). Researchers focused on the readiness of technology,
innovation, human resources, environment, finance, technological skills, and
technological equipment. The type of research used is qualitative research with
descriptive method. The participants in this study included the principal, teachers,
parents, and students. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and
documentation. The results of this study were as follow: 1) principals and teachers
had prepared and planned carefully on the implementation of e-learning during the
Covid-19 pandemic; 2) students' parents had provided adequate facilities and
infrastructure for their children to take part in e-learning; 3) the teachers had
attended training on the use of e-learning. The presence of internet facilities and
internet quota subsidies from schools had greatly assisted students in the
implementation of e-learning. The inhibiting factor for the implementation of elearning
in SD UMP is that most parents could not always accompany their
children in learning as they had to do their jobs. Teachers sometimes encountered
bad signals when delivering lessons since they used the school's wifi
simultanequsly with other teachers. The bad signal was also encountered by
students that might interfere with the implementation of e-learning. The solution
attempted was by giving a summary of the material which then uploaded it to the
LMS, where students might download the material and then read it again.
