The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquidity ratios, leverage ratios,
profitability ratios, activity ratios, growth ratios, gross domestic product, and interest
rates on financial distress, the population in this study were retail sub-sector
companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2017-2021 period as
many as 30 companies. The data collection method used was purposive sampling and
obtained 81 data that have met the criteria. The analysis technique used is logistic
regression. Financial distress in this study is calculated using the Altman Z-Score
calculation. The results of the analysis show that the liquidity ratio, leverage ratio,
activity ratio, and gross domestic product have a negative effect on financial distress.
Meanwhile, profitability ratios, growth ratios, and interest rates have no significant
effect on financial distress.
