Bullying is intentional aggressive behavior that involves an imbalance of power or strength. This research is motivated by the existence of students who have problems with showing various cases of bullying, as well as the good role played by the father and mother of the teacher in solving the problems faced by these students. The purpose of this study: (1) To find out the forms of bullying that occur at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto. (2) Knowing the factors that cause bullying at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto. (3) Knowing the role of PAI teachers in handling bullying cases at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto.
This type of research is descriptive qualitative with research subjects as school principals, Islamic religion teachers, counseling teachers, and students of class VII and IX. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis technique is data reduction.
The results of the study show that: first, the forms of bullying that still exist at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto. Physical bullying in the form of yelling and hitting. Non-physical verbal bullying in the form of cursing, mocking, dubbing, accusing, cheering, spreading gossip, and snapping. Second, the factor of bullying in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto is caused by many factors that parents pay less attention to their children or lack of affection because they come from families with broken homes and from families who are economically disadvantaged. Third, the role of the PAI teacher in handling the case by means of the teacher acting as a child's friend by positioning himself as an equal, taking an individual approach, as a partner venting and applying empathy, being attentive, applying a friendly attitude.
