Abstract
A module is one of the effective learning media used in class. This research was conducted to develop modules used in the English Enrichment Program, LDC, UMP. The researcher highlighted that the old module content needed to be developed because there were several missing elements and the material that had to be updated. It was intended for Pre-Intermediate level students. The purpose of this research was to find out the needs of students, the process carried out in module development, and the students’ response regarding the products produced. This study was Research and Development in which it invloved interview and questionnaire as the instruments to collect the data. Information about students' needs was obtained through needs analysis. The data obtained from this process became a reference in developing the module. Afterwards, the module development process was based on the stages of R&D proposed by Borg and Gall (1983). Meanwhile, the activities of the module were reflecting multiple intelligence theory proposed by Gardner (1993). In addition, the products developed were assessed by experts by considering four aspects, namely content appropriateness, presentation appropriateness, language appropriateness, and layout appropriateness. The result showed that the students needed a new module containing up-to-date materials with Multiple Intelligence as the basis of the activity. Afterwards, the validity of the product given by the experts indicated that the contents were appropriate with the students’ level. In addition, the response of the students showed that the module was feasible for learning English language.
