Abstract

Concrete is a material that is often used in a building’s structure. Selfcompacting
concrete is a high quality concrete technology that has been developed
very long; however, it is not really well used in Indonesia. This research aimed to
discover the effect of white sand toward self-compacting concrete compressive
strength. The compressive strength planned was fc’45 MPa. The planned of mix
design in this research referred to Indonesia National Standard Regulation of
Concrete Planning 03-2834-2000 with the aggregate composition (sand : crushed
stone) of 45:55. In this research there were five variation of smooth aggregate
mixture composition (stone ash : white sand) 100:0, 85:15, 75:25, 65:35, and 55:45
with the use of 1.5% superplasticizer (Sikacim Concrete Additive) to the cement.
Slump flow test was used to test the fresh concrete, while compressive strength test
was employed to test the hardened one. The result of both slump flow and
compressive strength test on the smooth aggregate mixed with white sand indicated
that there was a significant decline.
