Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of students taught using TTW models (Think Talk Write) with students who were taught using the DMR model (Multi Representation Discourse) on the ability of mathematical representation and self confidence of Purbalingga 1 Public Middle School students. Subjects in this study were the population of class VII Purbalingga 1 Public Middle School. The analysis technique used in this study is the test of independent sample t-test to test one party. Based on the results of the analysis on the hypothesis test the ability of mathematical representation and self confidence of students with α = 5% obtained the value of sig = 0.0095 for the ability of mathematical representation and sig = 0.0075 for self confidance. Then the sig <α so Ho: μ1 ≤μ2 is rejected and Ha: μ1> μ2 is accepted. In conclusion, the mathematical representation ability of students who are taught using the TTW model is better than the mathematical representation ability of students who are taught using the DMR model and the self confidance of students who are taught using the TTW model is better than students' self confidance taught using the DMR model.
