Abstract

This research is motivated by the Covid-19 pandemic which makes SD Negeri
Mewek implement blended learning as a substitute for face-to-face learning, the
implementation of blended learning will run effectively if students have an
independent attitude to learning, especially in mathematics subjects that require
understanding concepts in learning. This study aims to determine and describe the
learning independence of fourth grade students of SD Negeri Mewek through
blended learning in mathematics subjects and the obstacles and solutions of
teachers in instilling an attitude of independent learning in students through
blended learning in mathematics subjects. This research was carried out using a
descriptive qualitative research approach by conducting interviews, observations,
and documentation with teachers, students, and parents as resource persons. The
results showed that the indicator of learning independence which was mostly
owned by fourth grade students of SD Negeri Mewek was the indicator of
confidence with the number of students who already had a confident attitude as
many as 18 students and 3 students did not yet have a confident attitude. While
the indicators of learning independence that are at least owned by fourth grade
students of SD Negeri Mewek are indicators of motivation, namely as many as 13
students who already have the motivation to do learning activities and 8 students
do not yet have the motivation to do learning activities. The teacher's obstacles in
instilling an attitude of independent learning in students through blended learning
in mathematics are limited time and different student characteristics. The solution
that the teacher does to deal with the obstacles to instilling student independence
through blended learning in mathematics subjects is that the teacher inserts a
message about learning independence during the implementation of learning
either before starting the lesson or when going to end the lesson, the teacher
instilling learning independence through other subjects, namely Civics, and the
teacher do good cooperation with parents to provide learning assistance when
students study from home.
