The aims of this study was to determine the implementation of online learning in history subjects in for tenth grade of social science in 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pedes Karawang Years of Teaching 2020-2021. The study was supported by the background of SMA Negeri 1 Pedes Karawang which just made a learning transition from face to face to online learning. The formulation of the problem were: 1) How is the implementation of online learning in history subjects in the new normal era, 2) What are the obstacles faced in online learning in history subjects in the new normal era, 3) How to overcome the obstacles of online learning in history subjects in new normal era.
This study implemented a qualitative descriptive method [A1]. Interviews and observation were the instruments used to collect data. The subjects of the study were the principal and history teacher for tenth grade of social science SMA Negeri 1 Pedes Karawang.
This study revealed that the implementation of online learning was in the form of (1) WhatsApp and Google Classroom applications to communicate and give assigment to students (2) Online learning in history subjects had been adjusted to the annual program. (3) Online learning constraints in history subjects were experienced by teachers and students, here many teachers were constrained in operating several applications such as Google Classroom and Google Meet. Students here were constrained to the network and some students did not have communication tools to carry out online learning (4) Online learning was carried out by visiting directly to the students' homes who had no learning devices.
