Abstract
This research is motivated by the low speaking skills of students and the language learning process that does not pay attention to aspects of speaking skills as a communication tool. The problems are the use of learning models that are not appropriate, learning is still teacher centered, the ability of students to speak is still low, motivation of students in learning speaking skills is still low, teacher knowledge about learning models is still lacking, and there are many students who have difficulty in learning speaking skills listening. The purpose of this study was to describe the learning motivation of fourth grade elementary school students in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster, the speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in Ki Hajar Dewantara's cluster, and the use of the Cooperative Script learning model on the motivation and speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in the Cluster. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach to fourth grade students at SDN 1 Karanggintung and SDN 2 Karanggintung in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency. The research subjects were students, teachers, and principals at the elementary school. Data collection techniques follow the thinking of Miles and Huberman, namely using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out with steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested by triangulation where the truth of the information was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the learning motivation of fourth grade elementary school students in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster, Kemranjen District, had not shown maximum learning motivation. The motivation of students still depends on external stimuli and has not shown a maximum desire to participate in learning speaking skills. The speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster, Kemranjen District, have not yet reached the skilled category. Students have not demonstrated their ability to convey ideas with the correct speaking technique. The use of the Cooperative Script model in learning has followed the steps of the Cooperative Script model but has not shown a major influence on the motivation and speaking skills of students. The new Cooperative Script model can be followed by students but has not been able to generate greater motivation and has not been able to improve students' speaking skills. The conclusion of the study is that the use of the Cooperative Script model cannot show a major influence on the motivation and speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency.
