Abstract
This study aims to describe the types of changes in meaning and the factors causing
the changes in Putu Wijaya's play script entitled Lautan Bernyanyi. It was conducted
using the qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study included the types of
changes in meaning and the factors causing the changes in meaning in the script of
Lautan Bernyanyi in the form of words, sentences, and phrases. This study was
carried out through three stages: providing data, analyzing data, and presenting the
analysis results. Based on the results of the study, there were 22 data found. Twelve
data were on the types of changes in meaning, and ten were on factors that caused the
changes
