This study aimed to describe the compliance and violation of the conversational principle, namely the principle of cooperation and politeness, in the Begalan tradition on YouTube uploads in Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency. This study was qualitative descriptive. The study utilized a pragmatic approach. The data from this research was in the form of speech or conversation of the Begalan tradition actor. Meanwhile, the data source was the Begalan tradition actor on YouTube uploads in Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency. It can be drawn that Begalan tradition often contains the principle of conversation, both those who obey and those who violate. As contained in the Begalan tradition conversation on YouTube uploads in Kedungbanteng Sub-district, Banyumas Regency, it was found that some compliance with the principle of cooperation and the principle of politeness was found. Then, the author also found several violations of the principle of cooperation and politeness. There were 13 data on compliance with the principle of cooperation and politeness. Then, the violation of the principle of cooperation and politeness contained 16 data.
