Abstract

The rapid development of technology such as the internet and smartphones as communication media is a challenge for educators to use optimally in learning interactions to support tasks, seek information or knowledge. Surfing in cyberspace in search of knowledge creates an educational atmosphere that is student-friendly, fun, creative, dynamic and dialogical. The objectives of this research are 1. To evaluate the activeness of students using Edmodo e-learning in social studies learning materials of scarcity and human needs in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Wanadadi. 2. Assessing student learning outcomes through Edmodo's e-portfolio teaching materials in social studies learning materials of scarcity and human needs in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Wanadadi. 3. Testing the effectiveness of learning outcomes using Edmodo media in social studies learning materials of scarcity and human needs in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Wanadadi.
The research method uses an analytic correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The analytic correlation of this study connects the two dependent variables and the dependent variable in class VIID and class VIIE as a research group, while cross sectional is a type of research that emphasizes the time of measurement or observation of independent and dependent variable data only once. This study uses a case control approach, namely the experimental class and the control class, the research design aims to determine the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The research time was carried out in two stages. The first stage, the preparation of the validity test of the questions has been tested on the sample and the second stage is the four-meeting learning process according to the curriculum structure.
The results of the study obtained E-learning Edmodo The average value of student activity in the experimental group was 85.55 while for the control group was 75.97, the p-value or sig value was 0.00 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The gain index score, which is 56.4% for the experimental class treated with E-learning Edmodo, is categorized as quite effective. Meanwhile, the average N-gain score for the control class (conventional method) is 32.8%, which is included in the ineffective category. There are differences in student learning outcomes in the experimental class using E-Learning Edmodo and the control class using conventional methods. It is known that the average learning outcomes of the experimental group are 87.52 while for the control group it is 81.06. In the independent samples test, the average value of the effectiveness of the experimental group was 21.71 while the control group was 17.35. The result of the p-value or sig is 0.00 (<0.05) there is a significant difference in activity between the use of the Edmodo e-learning method and the conventional learning method in social studies subjects for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Wanadadi in the even semester of the 2021-2022 academic year.
