Abstract

This study aims to discover the effect of student learning discipline at school
on Bahasa Indonesia learning outcomes in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Wangon in the
2019-2020 academic year. This was a descriptive quantitative research with an ex
post facto method. The research samples were taken using a simple random sampling
technique. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation.
The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS program
version 25. The results of the descriptive analysis indicated that the variable of
student learning discipline at school and Bahasa Indonesia learning outcomes of
students in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Wangon were in the moderate category. From
the research which has been done, the student learning discipline at school had an
effect of 15.3% on Bahasa Indonesia learning outcomes. The remaining 84.7% was
affected by other factors including internal and external factors.
