Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to implement the example nonexample
learning strategy to increase student curiosity and learning
achievement. This research was conducted in February 2020 in grade V SD
Negeri 3 Kotayasa. This research was a Classroom Action Research with two
cycles consisting of two meetings in one cycle in which each cycle consisted of
planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The data collection techniques
used in this research were test techniques and non-test techniques. The results of
this research showed that there was meaningful learning so that students'
curiosity and learning achievement increased. There was an increase from cycle
I to cycle II which can be seen from the acquisition of classical percentage in
cycle I which was 4.5% with quite good criteria and it increased to 6.8% in cycle
II with very good criteria. In addition, the application of the example nonexample
learning strategy can also improve student achievement. It appeared
from the average value of the first cycle of 57.15% with fairly good learning
completeness which increased to83.5% with excellent learning completeness in
cycle II. Thus, the indicators of research success were achieved. In conclusion,
the application of the Example Non-Example learning strategy can increase
student curiosity and achievement.
