The research entitled Types of Presuppositions in the speech of the main characters of the Surga Yang Tak Rindukan 2. This study aims to describe the types of presuppositions contained in the film. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study were the utterances of the main character in the film. The source of this data and research was the main characters. This research method consisted of three stages,
namely (1) data collection techniques, (2) data analysis techniques, (3) data analysis results presentation techniques. In collecting the data, the observation method was used, with the basic technique of noting and recording. The data analysis technique used the comparative method, while the analysis of the type of presupposition used the comparative method of equalizing technique (HBS). In the technique of presenting the results of data analysis, the informal presentation method was employed. Existential presuppositions were presented in 2 data marked by a statement of belonging and existence. Factual presuppositions were described in
3 data marked by the use of the words; know, happened, and several words containing facts. Lexical presuppositions were displayed in 4 data marked in the form of utterances from Amran, Pras, and Hartono. Structural presuppositions were the most frequently or dominant presuppositions consisting of 3 data. Those presuppositions were marked by the use of the WH-Question structure, namely what and how. Non-factual presuppositions were depicted in 3 data characterized by the use of words that could lead to ambiguous meanings, including maybe, if, and like. While the last presupposition or the opposite presupposition appeared in two data.
