Abstract
The study aimed to describe critical thinking skills and mathematical analogy viewed from sequential thinking style of students of SMK Telkom Purwokerto. It was a qualitative description study. The subjects were the students of class X RPL 5. The samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The study used 3 subjects of abstract sequential thinking style and 3 subjects of concrete sequential thinking style. The data were collected by using a thinking style questionnaire, written test, interview, and documentation. The analysis techniques were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study used a technical triangulation test as a result validation test. The results of this study indicated that: (1) the students with abstract sequential thinking style in critical thinking were able to analyze, to determine strategies, and to conclude. This type of mathematical analogy was able to identify similarities between the two problems, to deduce the relationship, to relate the relationship between the two problems, and to determine the target problem-solving solution properly. (2) The students with concrete sequential thinking styles in critical thinking were able to determine strategies and to conclude. This type of mathematical analogy was able to identify similarities and to deduce a relationship between the two problems.
