Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the ability of changing interview
text into narration of the seventh grade students (class A) SMP Muhammadiyah 8
Kemangkon using mind mapping method. The subjects of this research were 17 female
students and 19 male students of class A. this research was done on april 8 –
May 9, 2018 and consisted of two cycles that included planning, acting, observing,
and reflecting in each cycle. The instruments of this research were test and non-test
instruments. The results showed that mind mapping was able to improve the skill of
chaging interview text into narrative on the seventh graders class A of SMP
Muhammadiyah Kemangkon in academic year 2017-2018. It was proven by students’
learning outcomes average score that improved from cycle I which was 73.95 with
61.11% completeness or 20 students passed the minimum criteria to 79.82 in cyle II
with 77.14% completeness or 27 students passed the minimum criteria.
