Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic situation made the Government announced the learning activities into E-learning. This policy and its relation to teachers’ strategies in teaching were interested to be studied. This research focused on the teachers’ strategies and tecahers’ difficulties in teaching English through E-learning at EFL classes. This study aimed at answering the following research question: what does the strategies used by the teachers in teaching English through E-learning at EFL class?. This type of research was field research with descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study were questionnaire and interview. The results of the study showed that there were three strategies used by the teachers in teaching English namely, indirect teaching strategy, experiential/empirical teaching strategy and independent teaching strategy. There were four difficulties faced by the teachers, they were: the difficulties in explaining material, students’ lack of motivation, parents’ support system and internet connection problem.
