Abstract

Contraception is a tool or method intended to prevent pregnancy. This prevention can be either temporary or permanent. Contraception is also a tool that can affect fertility or population growth. The main objectives of the family planning program (KB) are to control the population, to reduce maternal and child mortality, and to improve family health by means of a birth control or a program called Family Planning. The special purpose of family planning is to improve the welfare of mothers and children in creating the norm of a happy small family. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting the selection of injection contraceptive in Waru Village, Bantarkawung District, Brebes Regency. This research was conducted in Waru Village, Bantarkawung District, Brebes Regency. The research method used in this study was survey research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data used were primary data and secondary data. The data in this study were collected using structured interviews in the form of a closed questionnaire. The population of this study were all contraceptive injection acceptors totaling 560 acceptors while the sample in this study was 112 contraceptive injection acceptors who were selected using random sampling with a sampling number of 20% of the population. Data in this study were processed using a frequency table and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis with percentage table. The results of this study showed that factors that influenced the selection of contraceptive injection were age (39.29%,) education (80.35%), occupation (85.71%,) the number of children (57.14%), knowledge (51.78%,), the husband's support (91.96%). income (71.43%), service (81.25%), availability of tools (68.75%), effectiveness (95.53%), and health (87.5%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the factors affecting the choice of injection contraceptives in Waru Village, Bantarkawung District, Brebes Regency are income, employment, husband's support, services, health, and effectiveness. However, the factor that most influences the choice of injection contraceptives is effectiveness.
