Background: Indonesian traditional medicines are ingredients or ingredients derived from plant materials, animal materials, minerals, galenic, or mixtures that are used from generation to generation for medicinal purposes. Traditional medicine must meet one of the requirements of containing Timbal (Pb) is one of heavy metal that can cause poisoning, nervous disorders, and kidney damage. For that reason, the analysis of Timbal (Pb) metal content in traditional medicinal preparations are required. Method: Determination of lead (Pb) levels can use the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method with the wet destruction method using strong acids, namely HNO3 and H2O2. Results: from 8 published reviews, Hanwar et al.’s (2019) research, which fulfilled the validation method aspects of the value analysis, was shown r 0.999. Detection limits and quantity limits of 0,4 ppm and 1.3 ppm with an accuracy rate of 87,16%. Conclusion: This method can be used to analyze the levels of lead (Pb) in the preparation and raw materials of traditional medicines.
